Maternity Services

Mothers who deliver at Bellflower Medical Center Maternity Unit can be assured that they will receive quality care from our dedicated and caring staff.

Mothers will take home diaper bags, diapers, baby gift packs and educational handouts.

PRE-ADMISSION REGISTRATION

As a courtesy and a convenience for our expectant Mothers, we offer pre-registration for their admission.  Pre-registration is offered daily in the Admitting Department and during our Maternity Tours.  For more information call 562-925-8355, Ext. 453 or 343.

MATERNITY TOURS

We invite you to attend one of our Maternity Tours where you will receive general information and tour the Labor and Post-Partum rooms.  These tours are held every 1st Wednesday of the month @ 6:00pm, 3rd Tuesday of the month @ 10:00am and the 4th Saturday of the month 10:00am - 12:00 noon to become familiar with Bellflower Medical Center. 

CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASSES

In a nine-hour class presented in a series of three sessions, you will learn about the labor and delivery process and will practice relaxation and breathing.  Different techniques are demonstrated to make your labor easier.

Learning is an important part of childbirth.  A full spectrum of childbirth education with a main focus on infant care, self-care, and breast-feeding. Educational videos such as Infant CPR, Safety, Baby Care, and Mom Self-Care are available.  We encourage bringing a partner to actively participate in this learning process. 

WHAT TO BRING FOR DELIVERY

We suggest you bring the following:  a picture ID, your medical insurance card, your doctor's business card, maternity papers (medical records).  For your convenience, please also bring the following:  a robe, slippers, undergarments, pajamas, hairbrush/comb and, for your baby, one outfit to go home in.
