Respiratory Care

Licensed respiratory therapists are trained to assess the condition of your lungs and make treatment recommendations:

Pulmonary function tests (used to evaluate breathing capacity and aid in the diagnosis of lung disease).
Arterial blood gases

They also monitor and administer breathing treatments such as:

Oxygen
Bronchodilators
Chest physical therapy

Our therapists help educate patients to learn to keep themselves healthy. Patients with asthma and other lung disease are given information to help understand and manage their conditions.

Cardiology Care

Our department provides several diagnostic services used to detect heart abnormalities:

Electrocardiograms (records the electrical activity of the heart)
Echocardiograms (uses sound waves to produce a “picture” of the heart’s muscles.

These tools provide the information your physician needs to determine further treatment.
